3D Typography

Term 2

The task was to create typography using 3D related objects to give the type life and depth. I started by using my material to create words relating to it.

Using actual nuts to create a pun pickup line I also used bit of type and kept the word nuts in using actual nuts.

To experiment with style and font using nuts I did another recreation.

Sticking to food I then used left over crumbs on a tray and and tissue to create the food court hungry atmosphere within the imagery. I used a mixed of different food materials o create this from pizza crumbs to chip crumbs to ketchup. I also left a few stains on the tissue itself to show it's been used adding effect to the crumbs.

Another experimentation I also did with food, I used fries to makeup the word fried as a means of irony again on a oily, greasy tissue forefeet and impact.

I used another cheesy line to create this type where I used a actual skipping rope to spell out the word skip. I used clear tape to stick down the rope to form the lettering. As the rope wasn't big snout to fit the whole sentence in and I only had one rope available I then used tags for the rest of the sentence. 'My heart Skips a beat'.

Cereal Proto-type

Term 2

Once I completed my design on Illustrator and I was happy with the colour and composition I printed the net out and stuck it together to form my cereal box proto-type.

Really pleased with the final outcome, I love how the whole design came to one final piece which came together very well If i was to develop this further I'd include the name of the cereal on the top and print out a collection of these as experiments just to see how they visually look.

Rotoscoping

As I had missed this session as a small experimentation and guide through using the horoscope brush and technique I followed a youtube tutorial which talked me through the process step by step

I followed this tutorial using a clip of my own. However I ain't to pleased with this experiment as it is not to the beast of my work. This therefore requires me to do more work and create a rotoscope image to the standards. This experiment was just to become familiar with the technique and to be able to learn hot to use the brush tool.

Character Motion

Using adobe photoshop I was to create a character motion animation. Opening a new document in photoshop, making the timeline visible, layer new video layer. To start of the design using a Wacom tablet  I drew out the process of walking on a new frame and new layer. Using a line tool to create a horizon in the back.

Then enabling the onion skin in the timeline options so it gives a shadow to the person when walking turning the opacity down so it's not to sharp but blends with the background.

Rendering the final piece as a animation I had problems to get the speed to be reduced, I tried changing the settings a few times but it didn't seem to work. This was my final piece.

Pinterest Inspiration

For Inspiration for all of my design work my first step for ideas is by using Pinterest. It is a site which designers use to showcase their work to be recognised by the design industry. I find this very useful in  gaining my secondary artist design research as their is some very talented and experimental work which I can always relate to. I have used work from Pinterest in my research since the start offend which I have always looked at as a form of inspiration and developed my work further.

I have created myself a account on Pinterest which allows me to save other artists work, follow and be followed. It also allows me to showcase my work and be recognised by other designers and design agencies.
