3D Landscape

To create a 3D Landscape our first task was to use Adobe Illustrator to create a landscape with every element on a different layer so It could be animated. I created a scenery of Egypt dessert using the foreground, mid ground and the background, using the space wisely.

After this I imported the image in After Effects where I set up a 3D camera and using the transitions on the bottom left hand I experimented with the zoom positioning and the moving tool. I did theist animate the camels and the scenery to create a moving image. I was really pleased with my finished outcome.

Stopmotion

In this session we was to draw a picture or type, I went with a picture of a simple rose. We had to draw this exactly the same 3 times each on different papers. So using the light box and a pencil I traced over my first image and produced 3.

Then taking it over to Adobe after effects we was to trace over all 3 images using the pen tool to trace around each image so we could create a stop motion animation. The final piece i'm not so proud of As I wasn't able to finish this piece and rushed it so I feel if i did this again I could do much better.

Wizard of OZ

Term 2

Creating a small Animation based on a traditional story I chose the Wizard of OZ from where I had to create any 2 scene's and create a transition between the two scenes.

To start of Using Illustrator I created the two scenes on separate pages, using type and Illustration. I created each element on a separate layer as this allowed me to animate them separately in Adobe After effects.

Using different shades of green and yellow with the pen-tool I drew out the Emerald City. For the yellow brick road I used the curve pen-tool drew a curvy line to which Increased the size of the brush and changed the brush style to create that effect which I really liked.

I used the exact same style as the previous scene with the same typography so they fit together nicely with the transition.

I then Exported them into After effects where I worked on a individual scene first.

I feel I can improve on this small experimentation and create something better with more movements and much more complex scenes.

3D Typography

Term 2

The task was to create typography using 3D related objects to give the type life and depth. I started by using my material to create words relating to it.

Using actual nuts to create a pun pickup line I also used bit of type and kept the word nuts in using actual nuts.

To experiment with style and font using nuts I did another recreation.

Sticking to food I then used left over crumbs on a tray and and tissue to create the food court hungry atmosphere within the imagery. I used a mixed of different food materials o create this from pizza crumbs to chip crumbs to ketchup. I also left a few stains on the tissue itself to show it's been used adding effect to the crumbs.

Another experimentation I also did with food, I used fries to makeup the word fried as a means of irony again on a oily, greasy tissue forefeet and impact.

I used another cheesy line to create this type where I used a actual skipping rope to spell out the word skip. I used clear tape to stick down the rope to form the lettering. As the rope wasn't big snout to fit the whole sentence in and I only had one rope available I then used tags for the rest of the sentence. 'My heart Skips a beat'.
